Canmore Angling Club

Canmore AC based in Forfar have fishing for brown trout on Den of Ogil Reservoir and Forfar loch which is stocked regularly with rainbows. They also have fishing on the fivers Dean, Kerber and Limno.

Carloway Angling Club

On the west side of Lewis, Carloway AA have fishing on 3 lochs for salmon and some excellent trout and on the spate river Carloway. The lochs are Laxabhat Ard, Laxabhat Lorach and Loch Airigh Seibh.

Carrick Angling Club

Carrick AC offers day and week tickets for fishing on the river Girvan, an improving river, for salmon, sea trout and brown trout.

The club have a number of beats:

Bargany Beat extending from Nobles Bridge in Girvan to Drumrannie Burn south bank only.

Lower Enoch Beat extending from Drumrannie Burn to Enoch farm bridge south bank and Cochranes Point Pipe to Enoch farm bridge north bank.

Camreggan Beat extends from Killoup Burn to Penwhapple Burn south bank only.

Castle Douglas and District AA

Fishing on 5 miles of the river Urr for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. Best pools are Step End, Cauls, Davie Craig, Red Brae, Spottes Dam, Battery, Jeans and Grange Water, fly only from Spotttes Bridge upstream, worm allowed down stream all season. They also have fishing for brownies and rainbows in the 56 acre Loch Roan. For permits contact McCowans, Castle Douglas (01556 502009).

Caurnie Angling Club

Antermony Loch is a 25 acre loch near Milton of Campsie, Kirkintilloch run by Caurnie Angling Club. Boat and bank fishing for rainbows and brown trout, stocked mainly with browns but rainbows used in the summer when the browns go off. Membership open to folk living in East Dumbartonshire is very reasonable.

Clarkston Angling Club

Right next to Hillend loch is the "Lilly" an attarctive little loch run by Clarkston AC. Stocked regularly with rainbows and brown trout. Fly, bait and spinning are allowed. Boats are available for fly fishing.

There are also some big pike and perch to add to the fun when spinning. Call 07982666610 during the trout closed season.

Conon and Achonachie AA

has 2.5 miles of fishing on the upper Conon from below the power station at Loch Luichart to above Loch Achonachie and the upper beat on the Blackwater from above Rogie Falls to Loch na Croic. They also have fishing on loch Achonachie, loch Scardroy and Loch Meig where they have a Wheely Boat. The river fishes best late on in the season. Permits for the dawn to 4pm and or 4pm 'til dusk sessions. The club have been very progressive in providing access to parts of the beat for people with disabilities. Crianlarich Angling Association

Have salmon and brown trout fishing on the river Fillan over 5 miles of the south bank from the Cononish Viaduct to Loch Dochart. Permits from the Crianlariach Hotel.

You can also fish selected areas of Loch Iubair for brown trout and perch.

Crieff Angling Club

Drummond, Braidhaugh and Upper Strowan


5 miles of fishing administered by Crieff Angling Club offering day tickets for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. 3 beats, Strowan, Braidhaugh and Drummond Castle mostly double bank. Salmon, sea trout, brown trout and grayling.

They also have fishing for brown trout on Drummond Loch stocked annually with brownie of 12 inches, fish to 4 lb caught. There are 3 boats for hire on this shallow loch, no bank fishing. Booking at the Crieff Visitor Centre.

Cumnock and District Angling Club

New Cumnock and District Angling Association operates this well stocked fishery. Located a few miles out of New Commnock by the A76 half way between Cumnock and New Cumnock the fishery has rainbows, browns and tigers.

The club also has fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on 2.5 miles of the Glenmuir River and 4 miles on the Lugar from the junction with the Glenmuir. Call 07958 279740
