Dalbeattie Angling Association

Dalbeattie AA have 3.5 miles of fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on the lower river Urr from the tidal beat up stream. The also have fishing on Buittle Loch. For permits McCowan and Son's shop at 43, High Street,01556 610270

Dalry Angling Association

Dalry AA have fishing on the river Ken (fly only) on the west bank from Earlstoun Power Station to Coum Burn and on the east bank from the suspension bridge to Boatknowe. They also share water with New Galloway AA.

They have fishing on Loch Carsfad (fly, spin, bait) and Earlstoun Reservoir (members and boat only).

The river has good perch, information is scant.

Devon Angling Association

15 miles on the river Devon from below Castlehill Reservoir through Dunning Glen down to the Tullibody / Menstrie Bridge plus bank fishing on Glenquey Reservoir.

Trout fishing is available on all of the water but salmon and sea trout fishing is restricted to water below the impassable falls at Rumbling Bridge, from the Cauldron Linn to the Tullibody Bridge.

There are 5 day tickets for salmon, sea trout and brown trout available daily. Salmon tickets from the Paper Shop in Dollar and Stenhouse's in Tillichoutry. They also have fishing for brown trout on Glenquey Reservoir. Permits for Glenquay from Paper Shop (Dollar), Mona’s coffee shop (Pool of Muckhart) and the Inn at Muckhart (Pool of Muckhart).

Dreghorn Angling Club

Located on the B7081 near Irvine the Dreghorn club has fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on the rivers Irvine and Annick, 18 named pools on the Irvine from the saw mill down to the meetings with the Annick. Being a Class 3 river the all salmon and sea trout must be release.

Drumgrange and Keirs Angling Club

The club have 5 miles of the river Doonfrom Dalmellington to Patna, 3 miles singe and 2 miles double bank. The river gets a steady flow from compensation water released from loch Doon and some fish are to be had in May and June but the water is best back end september and October.

The Doon is a Category 1 river but C & R is encouraged, all sea trout to be returned.

The club offers day tickets which can be obtained fron the filling station on Ayr Road, Dalmellington.

Dornoch and Disst AA

Dornoch and District Angling Association have fishing for Salmon, sea trout and trout fishing on Loch Brora. They also have fishing for trout on Lochs Laro, Bhuidhe, Laoigh, Loch a Ghiubhas. Not clear on whether the do day tickets. Call the Secretary on 01862 810973 after 7pm.

Doune Angling Club

If you live within 1 mile of Doune Cross you are eligible to join the club (some tickets for former residents too). They have fishing for salmon and sea trout on the Moray beat of the Teith on Weds and Sat. Call 01786842255 for more information.

Dounreay Fly Angling Club

Drounray FAC has 20 boats on a number of the top Caithness lochs including Watten, Heilen, Calder, St Johns and 7 others.

Loch Watten, approximately 3.5 miles long and up to half a mile wide this shallow (max 12 feet) marl loch offers boat fishing, strictly fly only, for brown trout. Watten is renowned as one of the best trout lochs in the country with fish of 2 to 3 lbs taken regularly.

Dumfermline Artisan Angling Club

Run by Dunfermline Artisan AC, Craigluskar consists of 2 lochs situated just outside Dunfermline. One loch is fly only stocked with rainbows of about 2lb and from time to time with bigger fish as well as blues, tiger and brown trout. The other loch is a bait water stocked the same as the fly only loch.

Dumfries and Galloway AA

Beats, 2.5 miles double bank on the Nith and over 10 miles on the river Cairn (a good spate river) for salmon, sea trout, brown trout and grayling. Long season to 30th November on the Nith.

Permits are available on a Full (10 mile radiaus of Dumfries), Regional Member (10 to 20 mile radius), Season Visitor (outwith 20 mile radius) and Day Ticket basis. Permits from McMillans Tackle, Friars Vennel, Dumfires and The Ree lnn, Friars Vennel.

The club also has fishing on Loch Drum a 7 acre loch stocked with rainbows of 2.5 to 3lbs, there are also some over wintered browns
and tiger trout.

Dunkeld and Birnam AA

Fishing on the Tay and Braan for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. Some nice gralying on the Tay too. They have the Murthly and Glendelvine Beats (Glendelvine is where where Miss Ballantyne caught her record salmon) nice trout water.

The club also has fishing on Butterstone loch and Balhomish Loch for members and members guests only.

Dunoon and District AC

Dunoon and District Angling Association offer fishing on the Ruel a small Argyllshire spate river, fly only salmon, sea trout and brown trout. They also have fishing on the Massan, Finnart and Cur.

For brown trout they have Lochs Tarsan and Loskin for good wild brown trout and Dunoon Dam stocked with rainbows.
