The Canals Trust have over 2,000 miles of waterway to look after for the many interest groups who use them. With so much water it is no wonder that fishing is high on the list of activities.
The Trust issues a Waterway Wanderers Permit that entitles you to go fishing on an impressive amount of water throughout England (for just £20).
There are 3 lakes at Broadlands plus fishing on the rivers Test and Blackwater. The lakes are:
Main Lake, 26 acres fed by waters from the river Test. Lots (I mean lots) of double carp and over 500, 20lb plus, there are also roach and eels.
Lower Lake is 2.5 acres, a pleasure lake with carp to 27lbs, roach and eels.
Match Lake, 2 acres with 42 pegs good for the pole angler, carp, bream, tench, roach and perch.
There is fishing on the Test salmon, trout, pike to 20lbs, carp to 20 lbs, bream, perch, roach, they have a half mile of the Blackwater including the meetings with the Test.
Disabled anglers have been catered for with specially built platforms with disabled toilets on site.

Christchurch Angling Club
This club has a lot of water, 10 lakes for coarse fish and trout, 10 beats on the Hampshire Avon, 1 beat on the Frome at Trincleton and 7 beats on the Stour, they also have 3 carp lakes.
To get full information best to Google them and look at their web site, here is a taster of what you will find.
Members can fish all of the waters or there is a migratory fish only ticket if still water or course fishing is not for you. The club also offers Holiday Membership for 7 days or 14 days which gives you access to all waters.

Ringwood fishing for chub and barbel, there is a weir pool.
Upper Winkton, on the lower Avon good chub, perch, pike to mig 20s, barbel. There are two weir pools.
Sopley Main River, up stream of Winkton for big chub and barbel
Sopley Mill Stream, record challenging barbel plus chub, roach, dace and big pike.
Nea Meadows is a small park water with carp, tench, bream and roach.
You can also get tickets for the trout fisheries of which there are three at Whitesheet. The lakes are stocked regularly with rainbows, brown trout and blues.

Finally for members there are the carp lakes:
Spinnaker Lake has fish to just a smigin off 50lb plus there are specimen roach, tench, bream and pike.
Hucklesbrook has commons to 35lb mirrors to 25, tench to 12lb, lots of silvers, roach, rudd, perch and pike.
Ibsley Pools consists of 3 pools with carp to the high 20s to 30, tench, masses of silvers to feed the big pike.

Dandys Ford Fishery
Located near Romsey Dandys Ford consists of 3 lakes with disabled access to most swims. There is a lodge with cafe and the" facilities".

Calvert, 28 pegs with carp, crucians, silvers, bream, chub, tench.

FLE Fishing Lakes
Located near Ampfield, the fishery has 5 lakes:
Horseshore, a pleasure lake with 8 swims is stocked with carp to specimen size, night fishing can be arranged.
FLE Match Lakes, the fishery has 2 purpose built match lakes 100 yard long by 14 wide. There are 20 platforms. The stock includes carp to 13 lbs, tench, bream, perch, ide, roch, rudd, crucians.
FLE Top Lake, a small lake with ghost carp to 20lbs and good common and mirror carp.
Kingfisher Pond is located next to the lodge where there are full facilities including a tackle shop. The lake is, as a result, popular with kid and people with mobility issues in mind. Under 16s can fish for free.

A 200 year old man mad lake near Eversley. Lined with rhododendrons and dotted with water lilies, selcuded and quiet. 18 pegs. No information on species but sounds like a nice place to hang out.

Cromarty Pond, Lordshill, there are several platforms here including a concrete one suitable for use by wheelcahir user.

You can use skimmers as live bait, just catch them at Headlands first.

Itchen Free Fishing
There is free fishing on the Itchen at 3 locations in Winchester City, Twyford Meads and in Southampton downstream of Lower Itchen Fishery.

Lower Itchen Fishery
The fishery offers season (on a syndicte basis) and day ticket fishing for coarse fish over the period between 5th October to 14th March. Some excellent river fishing on an iconic river with grayling to 3lbs, some very big pike and leather carp to 20lbs as well as good roach, bream, chub and barbel.

Alver Valley, a 2 acre lake holding carp to 15lbs, tench, rudd, roach.
Baffins Pond, a 7 acre lake of Tangiers Road on Portsea Island in Portsmouth. There are carp to 20lbs, roach, rudd and gudgoen. Very good wheelchair access to the lake with toilets nearby in Tangiers Rd.
Brockhurst Moat, fishing in the moat surrounding one of the old Napoleonic Wars defense fort in Gosport. Roach, rudd, perch, pike a few big carp and some tench.

On the river Avon is one of the best known stretches of water, famed for it's enormous barbel.
There are also very big carp, big pike, roach, bream and dace.
