The Canals Trust have over 2,000 miles of waterway to look after for the many interest groups who use them. With so much water it is no wonder that fishing is high on the list of activities.
The Trust issues a Waterway Wanderers Permit that entitles you to go fishing on an impressive amount of water throughout England (for just £20).
Based in Bristol Amalgamated fisheries was formed to defend their waters from predatory clubs. They now have fishing in Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire with 15 beats on the river Avon and one on the Frome. They also have fishing on 4 lakes.
Membership is very reasonable when you consider Tockenham Reservoir has carp to over 30lbs, Sabre Lake has carp to 20lbs and Shackells Lake is reputed to have huge carp. There are no day tickets for Tockenham.
Tockenham has 3 purpose built platforms for wheelchar users.
Day Tickets are available from tackle shops in the 3 counties.
Ashton Keynes Angling Club
Control fishing on 3 lakes in the Cotswold Water Park and several sections of the Thames. Day tickets available for Neigh Bridge Country Park.
Neigh Bridge lake has 2 swims designed for ease of access by people with a disability. There are 40lb plus carp, big tench, roach, very big bream and perch and some 20lb plus pike. Day Tickets from the Tackle Den in the Park must be bought before commencing fishing.
The members only lakes are:
Large Lake in Keynes Country Park, holds some 50 carp to upper 30s, big pike, roach and perch.
Cokes Pit, good tench, carp, roach, bream, pike, closed season applies.
Upper Thames. Largeley unfished but does have some good chub.

Chippenham Angling Club
Chippenham AC have fishing on 7 sections of the Bristol Avon in and around the town. There are excellent barbel, carp, tench, roach, rudd and perch. Good pole water.
There are also 2 lake venues;
Pockeridge (Upper and Lower) 34 swims, carp, tench, roach, rudd and perch to 4lbs.
Burbrook Lake, rcently restocked with 800 tench, chub and goldfish to suppliment the existing stock of carp, roach, bream, tench, chub and some crucians.
Full membership open to people living within a 10 mile radius of Chippenham town centre, associate outwith. Day membership available but it only allows fishing on the Avon between Kellaway Road and Chippenham Weir. Membership is very reasonably priced with discounts for juniors, over 65s and disabled, available from tackle shops in the area.

Devises Angling Association
Devises AA have a 15 mile stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal and the 6 acre Croockwood Lake.
The waters covered by the club on the canal extend from Ladies Bridge near Pewsey to Semington Road bridge nead Melksham. The canal fishes best with the pole or waggler fishing for skimmers, bream, tench, roach, perch, rudd, pike and some carp.
Crookwood has 65 pegs 3 of which are suitable for disabled anglers. The holds carp todoubles (common, mirror, crucian) bream, tench, perch, gudgeon, rudd, goldfish, chub, barbel and pike.

Near Chippenham this former clay quarry of about 3 acres was redeveloped as a carp fishery some years ago.
In 2011 and 2013 the lake was netted removing all carp under 18lbs, most of the silvers and pike giving the carp more room to grow. During that time they stocked 71 Lana Springs carp 11 to 14lbs and 20, 20 plus from Mark Simmons.
Now they have excellent stocks. 160 carp in the main lake, 100 in the 20lb+ range, 37 in the 30s, 4 in the 40s (biggest 46.4lb)
There are showers and toilets for bivvie anglers or you can hire a lodge or pod. Minimum booking for bivvie 48hrs.

Plaums Pit Angling Club
The club have the fishing on a pool near Swindon town centre. The pool holds bream, roach, perch, crucians, rudd and tench.
Membership is inexpensive and there are reductions for juniors, women over 60 and men over 65. The club has an active match scene.

Tisbury Angling Club
The club have fishing on the 3.5 acre lake at Wardour Castle, carp, tench, roach, berch and bream. They also have Dinton lake in East Tisbury, a 2.5 acre lake with perch, roach, bream, perch. The club also has 2.5miles ochalk stream, the river Nader, a tributary of the Avon. Good wild brown trout, roach, dace, bream, perch.

Salisbury Angling Club
Salisbury AC has a heck of a lot to offer; for trout and grayling, 8 beats on the Avon, 3 on the Wylye, 3 on the Nadder, 3 on the Wiltshire Bourne, one on the Ebble plus Leominstead Fishery and Hamar Trout Fishery
They also have mixed game and trout fisheries on the Avon and Nadder.
Most waters are for members only but the do offer day tickets for the Avon at Durrington and West Amesbury and Abbey Water.

Swindon ISIS Angling Club
Fishing on the river Avon at Sutton Benger and on lake 1 and 1a in the Cotswold Water park. Species likely to be encountered bream, barbel, chub, crucians, dace, pike, perch, roach, tench, zander grayling on the Avon.
The club have a very active match scene. Membership is very reasonable with discounts for disabled, students and over 65s, under 16s fish for free.

White Horse Country Park
Part of a sporting complex there is a lake available for fishing which has some decent carp. Permits from the Sports Bar on Site or Wiltshire Angling in Trowbridge and Haines Angling in Dilton Marsh. Day tickets and 6 months membership (simple maths if you are going to fish here more than a couple of times take the membership).

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
There Trust has done extensive work on this 31.62 hectare site to create a nature reserve with recreational and educational facilities.
The have done work on the side adjacent to the river Wylie to improve the fish habitat. Day ticket fishing on a catch and release basis for brown trout and grayling is allowed.
On Brockbank Lake the fishing is controlled by the Langford Fishing Club, coarse fishing along Brockbank Centre shore. There are good paths and the fishing is accessible to wheelchair users.
There are toilets at the Centre, coach and car parking (disabled designated spaces)
