Wimbleball Reservoir

A sinous lake up in the hills near Hartford Wimbleball at 374 acres is pretty challenging. Fishing is from the bank and boat for rainbow trout. There are lots of bank areas accessible on the east side and down by the dam. If you like a good hike there are interesting bits on the west side. There are rowing boats available and for the less energetic outboard motors for hire.

The lake is now managed by Rainbow Valley Trout Farm which started stocking in 2018 with fish ranging from 1.75 to many over 3 lbs with a number of fish to doubles so prospect look good. The rod average in 2016 was just over 4 fish.

There is an Activity Centre on site with a cafe and toilets (male, female and for disabled). There is also a camp site with showers.

For further information call 07758561412 or to book a ticket call 01398 351371. The season is 23rd March to 31st October. There may still be a ticket machine at the Activity Centre.
