Amwell Magna Fishery
A members club dating to 1831 fishing on the river Lea on waters where Izaak Walton wet a line. They claim to be the oldest angling club in Britain but if you have a look at a Spinfish Feature Spinfish Feature Ellem Angling Club you will find that the Ellem Club was established on the Whitadder in 1829.

Boxmoor Trout Fishery
Located in Hemel Hemstead sandwiched between the Bulbourne river and Grand Union Canal this former watercess bed has been refurbished by locals who have developed it as a trout fishery.
Water quality is good, spring fed from chalk beds resulting in high water quality, ideal for trout growth.
The lakes is 3 acres going to 6 - 14ft deep with a weir at one end where excess water retuns to the river.
Stocked with rainbows which can be taken, there are also native brown trout but they are catch and release only.

There is a fishing lodge on site where you can have a chat and a cuppa. No day tickets.

Latchford Fly Fishers
A small club, just 40 members with a 3 acre lake near Ware stocked with rainbows and brown trout and a stretch of the river Rib from Latchford to Standon Fords, brown trout only. They are open to applications, there may be a waiting list to join.

2 lakes and a stretch of the river Ver available. One lake for trout the other for coarse fish while the river Ver is catch and release only for wild brown trout.
The trout lake is stocked with rainbow trout, stocked monthly with fish of about 2lbs. All fish 3lb and above to be returned. Half day, full day and evenings (evenings C & R only).
The coarse lake is a mixed fishery with roach, rudd, perch, chub, bream, tench and carp to 22lbs.
