Heath Loch


Located in Glen Clova just a few hundred yards from Glen Clova Hotel, Loch Heath is stocked with good rainbows up to 3lbs plus it has stocks of wild brown trout.

Take the B995 from Kirriemuir following the route of the South Esk and it is on the roadside near the hotel.

The hotel sells permits for Heath and for Loch Brandy (which is a 2/3 k trek up the Loch Brandy Burn Trail).

Loch of Lintrathen


Run by Lintrathen Angling Club the loch holds brown trout and rainbows, boat fishing only. There are 22 boats including 2 wheelie boats. They also have Backwater Reservoir which is unstocked and has a good head of wild brownies averaging about half a pound. Call 01575 560327.

Loch Saugh


Near Clatterin Bridge is run by the Brechin AC. The loch is about half a mile long, stocked with brown trout to about 1.5lbs.

Permits from the Fettercairn Shoppe, Laurencekirk; Angus Angling in Forfar; Newsplus, Edzell; The Wee Market Shop in Edzell.
