Stocked daily with fish 1.8 to 18lbs. Rainbows, blues, tiger and brown trout. They also stock quantities of Arctic Char.

Ballencrieff Fishery

A new fishery near Bathgate, follow that A792 to Torphicen, turn right at the war memorial for 1 mile.

2 lochs, Loch Roan is 4 acres, Helee Pond two acres both consisting of mixed deeps, sandy shallows and islands offering a good fishing environment, stocked with rainbows and brown trout to 20lbs.

There is a lodge selling snacks, drinks and tackle.

Bangour Trout Fishery

A former reservior of 12.5 acres which has been significantly developed since being taken over in 2005. Today the facilities include a lodge with a tackle shop, catering facilities a lounge and wash room. There are 28 platforms offering 33 spaces on the reservoir.

Bangor has added full facilities for disabled angers including two platforms with wheel chair access.

Fishing is fly only for rainbows (stocked weekly, minmum 2lb) and browns to double figures as well as blues, goldens and steelheads.

Beecraigs Counrty Park

20 acre chalk spring loch stocked daily mostly with rainbows. 9 boats for max 3 anglers per boat, fly only.

There are concessions and pensioner discounts.

Morton Fisheries

22 acres stocked mainly with rainbows but it has a few brown trout too bank and boat fishing, 12 boats. A new 4 acre bait pond had now been added.

Parkley Fishery

A former quarry near Livingston, bank only for rainbows and brown trout.

Looks interesting with some preciptious cliffs from the quarrying days but there are several good platforms taking you right out into the water.

Pottishaw Fly Fishery

Pottishaw fishery is located near Whitburn West Lothian. A 7 acre loch stocked with quality rainbow, brown and tiger trout ranging from 2 to 20lbs. Google ScreenShotPottishaw

As off 2019 the fishery has changed policy from C & R only to allow a 1 or 2 fish tickets (rainbows) plus C&R as well as the C & R only ticket. Day tickets available form 24th March for trout only, prices are very reasonable.

Brown trout, tigers, and coarse fish are catch and release only.

Fishing is from the bank, no boats but float tubes are allowed up to a limit of 15.

Pottishaw also has a good head of pike and perch, some pike are biggies.

In 2019 Fraser Thomson, the fishery owner, has set up the Free Fishing Project which will offer 12 to 16 year olds 6 days of free fishing 1 pm to 5pm on Fridays during the school holidays.

Tuition and tackle is provided, so is a packed lunch and information pack and a free ticket for the West Lothian AA water on the river Almond. Go to this link for full details:
